a visit from dr Manny
On Monday, 16th September, Year 5 and 6 students had the privilege of participating in engaging workshops led by Dr Manny Barot. With an impressive background that includes roles in Government and the Police, as well as serving as a former Director of Professional Studies at the National Holocaust Centre, Dr Barot brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the classroom. He is also a recipient of the I. Neustadt Prize for Social Research and holds both a PGCE and a PhD, teaching extensively across the UK and internationally.
During the sessions, pupils were captivated by a variety of stories shared by Dr Barot, which illuminated important lessons surrounding protected characteristics, including diversity and religion. In addition to the storytelling, children engaged in collaborative activities that fostered teamwork and deeper understanding of these vital topics. Dr Barot’s insights undoubtedly made a lasting impression on the children.
As a follow up to the visit, we have written persuasive emails.

world mental health day
Gardening is a great way to improve mental health. So, on Friday 11th October, the day after World Mental Health day we spent an hour in our school garden. We had a fabulous time in the glorious sunshine, weeding and clearing the borders and beds.
