The teacher in this class is Mrs Kernaghan every Monday, Tuesday and alternate Wednesday and Mrs Strong every Thursday and Friday and alternate Wednesday. Mrs Smith works across Year 5 and 6 every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday morning.
VE DAY CELEBRATIONSAUTHOR VISITUpper Key Stage 2 were fortunate to have the author, Lindsey Littleson, join us remotely for a brilliant, inspiring session. She shared her journey of how she became an author. Each child now has a copy of her autograph to cherish and remember this special day!
Tough rowerOn Monday 10th March, all Key Stage 2 classes had a session from Amber Valley Schools Sports Partnership; taking part in their Tough Rower activity. They brought in rowing machines for children to use and take part in single and group challenges.

Dr Manny Barot's Workshops with Year 5 and 6
On Monday, 16th September, Year 5 and 6 students had the privilege of participating in engaging workshops led by Dr Manny Barot. With an impressive background that includes roles in Government and the Police, as well as serving as a former Director of Professional Studies at the National Holocaust Centre, Dr Barot brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the classroom. He is also a recipient of the I. Neustadt Prize for Social Research and holds both a PGCE and a PhD, teaching extensively across the UK and internationally.
During the sessions, pupils were captivated by a variety of stories shared by Dr Barot, which illuminated important lessons surrounding protected characteristics, including diversity and religion. In addition to the storytelling, children engaged in collaborative activities that fostered teamwork and deeper understanding of these vital topics. Dr Barot’s insights undoubtedly made a lasting impression on the children.
