How will this group benefit me?

This group will:
· give you companionship and introduce you      to new people
· develop new friendships - between people    of the same generation and across different    generations
· teach you new skills and help you find            skills  you never knew you had!
· be fun and provide lots of smiles and              laughter!
· give you the opportunity to come and see       your DEER Friends at school, watch their    performances and take part in their celebrations.
 

All our sessions are completely free of charge and hot and cold refreshments will be served.

Deer Park School is a big part of the Wingerworth community and we are very privileged and proud to provide all of our children and families with fantastic opportunities. BUT….we don’t want to stop there! We want to become an even BIGGER part of our community by reaching out beyond our school to help and support our elderly residents.
 
Every month, we will be taking our DEER friends (a group of 4 and 5 year olds) to the  Parish Rooms for fun, games and activities and we would love our older generation of local residents to come along and join us.

What will the children learn from this group?

Our children will:
· make new friendships
· develop in confidence and self-esteem
· practise their speaking and listening skills
· practise turn taking and sharing
· develop their social skills
· develop their understanding of the world around them and learn new    knowledge and skills
· have fun and laugh lots!
